In level 2, you start out in a tree with a blue background, and when you jump down it turns yellow. But, if you pay attention before you jump down from the tree and look under the Rhino standing nearby....
IPB Image

apparently someone forgot to make part of the blue shadow for the Rhino =P

Dunno. I just know it works on Gens. I'm not a big rom expert here, I just find the ones that work =P

All they're doing is changing the pallet line used for the level, I would imagine. It just means that the rhino was still set to use the yellow/red pallet there.

ah, the days when Disney games didn't suck.

Anyone have this on game gear? It was good too, and it too did the pallette swap. A pretty cool effect for one of the movie's best parts. *just saw it the other day*

Nope. I have a pirate cart that does it, too (provided I can even get there--the cart ALWAYS locks up a few minutes after I turn it on).

You want true laziness? Bubsy for the SNES uses the EXACT SAME GRAPHICS, palette and all, as the Genesis version. Couldn't even be bothered to make use of the superior hardware...

[edit]

Hmm. Now that I look at those screens, particularly the sky gradients, The Lion King might be the same way...

Yes, I noticed that when I played the SNES version a while ago - I snapped the title screen from it and did a comparison with the Mega Drive's one - and I think it actually uses fewer colours than the MD version. Also, I don't think the music is as good as the MD version (key word I would use is not "better", but "different"). Only area it really improves on are the odd SFX and the voices.

But at the end of the day, IMO, the only really decent Bubsy game is Fractured Furry Tails on the Jaguar =P

Genesis version of the same point in the game. No mistakes here, though the SNES version looks better in my opinion. Sound's better in SNES too.

Well, those vertical pixel patterns on the rhino will blend on a real Genesis, making it look much closer to the SNES version. In fact, I'd imagine that they look quite close on hardware (other than the Genesis' blue on the tree trunks).
