Well, to start. Something about this doesn't seem right. The Riku modle maybe changed for the final... Or it maybe the camera angle. But something doesn't seem right. Also the font looks alittle different.

Collusem. Well, not alot different here, place looks a little smaller and the big flame canndle things are like... Out. =P Also, Donnald and Goofy are just standing there... Doing bugger all. Also note that Goofy and Sora's HUD icons are different.

The well known secret, Disney Castle. This can be seen on the World Select, but you can't get to it. At one point it seems, you were able to. No Donnald and Goofy, may have just been a test map.

Traverse Town, First district... Wait... There's no fighting in the First district! (You can see the item shop in the back there. =P) Also, when fighting the Command menu turns RED, here it remains BLUE. =D

a FMV of Sora running through the second district back street near the hotel. (The back street which leads to the Dalmations house) Then he suddenly looks up. Not in the final.

Well, here's an odd one. Riku on the top of the Neverland Big Ben. Maybe to peek in on Sora when he gets to jolly old London. Obviously this would clash with the story in the final since it goes like... Sora asks Hook where Riku has gone and taken Kairi with him. Hook replys "To Hollow Bastion of course, where the Melicifent resides." so he had already left by the time Sora gets to Big Ben.

Now, it kind of looks like Riku is doing the bit with him getting taken away by the Darkness, only in the final, 1) Sora doesn't attack Riku. 2) This happens before you get on the island where the big Shadow Sora is, namly "Darkside". It happens just after you get back on the Destiny Islands when the "storm appears". You also get the Keyblade right after that.

I have some Chain of Memories stuff as well I'll have to post... But if I did miss anything from the video, please point it out to me.

Side note: When Sora gets hit, his face doesn't change. Also the KH logo is different in the beta.

In the video at about 00:51 you can see a weird HP bar recovery like thing happening, also again at 1:33. It kind of creeps up. I suppose it might be the old Heal. Oh and it seems to go down like that too when you get hit.

yes if you notice goofy and donald are wearing thier regular clothes. goofy's magic meter is three and that looks like its to early in the game. and riku dosent look as detailed in the game. another thing is looks at soras shoes.
Ive just started playing it so I have a fresh Idea of whats diffrent.
there is more things but I want to check what I think to playing those areas.

I think with the no Donald or Goofy in Disney Castle, perhaps the idea was Sora would be sent there after Destiny Islands dies instead of Traverse Town. Also, a long time ago, I saw a screen from an early beta where Sora was an anthromorphic lion. Anyone else seen that?

Back in the earliest days of KH's development, Sora was going to be a half-human/half-lion character. Thankfully they scrapped this and made him a human. I found the pics below.

Disney Castle was the world which Mickey, Donnald, Goofy and all the rest originated from. It was seen at the begining of the game in the final and could be seen on the world select next to Traverse Town but you could not access it. I dare say it was pulled quite late on and that's why we have the icon on the world select.
We don't know what was going on there at the time, but I guess all it was, was a test map, since all the screens we have all involve Sora on his own and no heartless at any time. Since at the start of the game you see all of the place with in-game FMV's... I'm sure the map still exsists... If only we could get a AR code or something to get into it, that'd rock so much.
Do not get confused with pictures from Kingdom Hearts II, Disney Castle is in KHII, suppose it's better than no Disney Castle at all... =P

I found some debug shit and all in the game files... I'll post it later when I can be bothered... Not like it wasn't more than a 5 second job in Hex Workshop...

Quick run down. Menu refers to the command menu which has ATTACK, MAGIC, ect on... Air = Aero. all the rest are the same. Notice how it doesn't go "Cure01, Cura02, Curaga03" because it's easier to just tell it that these textures are grouped and to switch to them if you have Variable: Whatever. In other words... If you have CURA then the game recognises this and loads xm_cure02.mag which is the Cura texture, (Texture = the image displayed when you cast Cure.) sorry if it's complicated, but... You know, it is. =P (No perticular reason to say this, just if anyones curious on how the game works, this is how it works. =P)

Okay, this is where it gets interesting. Here we have commands in text. Meaning this is an OUTPUT message. I'm sure you've seen at one stage a game running in what's called a DEBUG mode. It's to show the developers that the game is working the way they want it to. Say, you know the bit in Monstro when Riku goes though the teleport behind the Paracite cage? Well, when the games does that somewhere on screen it'd come up with "HIDE_MODEL" and then the Model's file name. So say "HIDE_MODEL RIKU01"

the Debug menu still has programing, yet there isn't enough information for it to be psychically in the game, there is about 1mb worth of blank data from 38E16E to 399AF8 About B98A worth of differance. (If you don't get this, it's fine.) So, in final EU release, the Debug assets were riddened of apart from one referance. Shame. Not sure if the EU version may have been fixed, if someone could check about the HEX Location 38E16E in an American and Japanese version of the game on this file, it'd be apreachiated.

Also I may have found traces of Disney Castle all around this file. They could be system files though. The files are:

These files can be located at HEX OFFSET: 2CF258. I suspect this because a bit lower down we have files like AL_whatever.evm for Aladin... Just running on speculation right now...

Without getting to the rest of the files, the SCES_509.67 file is the biggest file which contains most information. My bet is that the file is loaded into the RAM and keeps instructions all the way through the game, which would make it the only file to keep constant DEBUG information in it.

When I do more, I'll post more...


Is all I done... It's been dumbed down a bit for kh2.co.uk... If anyone knows how to get into the rest of the disc's 2.3GB I'd like to know...

Would it be possible to rip the voice files from any of the games? I mean, both Chain of Memories and the original KH. I'd particularly be interested in the Japanese versions.

I'd do this myself, but I have nooo idea how to proceed.

You're better off asking someone who knows GBA audio compression, I think Herran knows a lot. =P
As for the PS game... I can't get to the folder /voice/ where they're supposidly stored on the original. So... If I figure out something, I'll rip them all.

EDIT: Also, I checked the offical Disney page for Kingdom Hearts, seems there is a page for DISNEY CASTLE... Which really makes me think that DC was in the game until very late into development... If so, and knowing how lazy Square Enix is... There might be maps (Not the cut-scene maps) still in the game... Of course, I can't dig deeper into the game at the moment so... =/

It looks like there was another character between Peter Pan and Jack, as the rest of the names seem to be formatted for 8 characters, and there's just 8 periods there. Might just be Hercules or Phil though.
