perhaps to save themselves the task of recreating assets, they wrote the game executable itself around the little endian order of the assets?

Back on topic, maybe it was one of the VF team members poking fun at how StF came about.

I mean, there's been other characters made for that purpose. Hell, look at Dan and what SNK did with him in SvC: Chaos...


By that, I mean SNK gave him a parody of two more of Ryo's moves that Capcom never did.
