QUOTE(Raiser @ Feb 3 2004, 08:29 PM)
Well, let's just let Nemesis work at his own pace.  He's almost done with this game, but in my opinion, he still has some important things to finish, namely the crash bug in Icy Isle.  That's the last thing that stands in the way of making this game playable.

Fixing the ending and the graphical bugs (like cliffs appearing on the floor as the screen scrolls, and walls and other things being out of place) would be nice too, but it's not as urgent.

youre an idiot, please go hang yourself.

Nemesis is not bugfixing the system32 driver or improving on the emulation. The only thing he did was emulate the protection. Some other person (MAMEdev probly, will hafta improve the system 32 emulation/bugs)
And since the protection device is game specific, sonics protection being emulated doesnt help any other games, period.

Ah, I didn't know the protection depended on the game, sorry.

I think the bits of a CPU refer to the width of the integer unit.

Just checking up on this topic, is there anyone working on fixing the few problems that remain with the game (I know that they are all only emulator related now, but still)

Haze is the man responsible for the mame system32 driver, however his interest seems to be elsewhere right now. Anyone can have a shot at it of course, but it takes a lot of time to learn enough about the system to be able to find faults in the current drivers.

Too bad, it would be really awesome if we could get this working full.

I know you heard it a lot, but still, awesome job Nemesis.

?
I prefer getting the 0.97 version as well as the ROM myself... As for the cheat.dat file it is quite easy to create.
